Darren Yeoman

Darren is the owner of Fightworx Academy. Darren is an accomplished martial artist and the highest ranked Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor in Torbay and the surrounding areas.

Darren has competed at British, European and World Competition level, recently taking a silver medal at Brown Belt level.

Darren has also actively competed in Judo and Submission Wrestling, taking medal positions at each.

Darren has trained with Pedro Sauer in Salt Lake City, USA. He has also travelled the UK training with world level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors, including Carlos Gracie Jnr, Roger Gracie, Braulio Estima, Victor Estima, Gordinho, Ricardo Vieira, Roger Brooking, Vitor Ribeiro, Pedro Bessa, Yuri Simoes to name but a few.

Darren is considered one of the finest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Wrestling instructors in the south west.

Adam Gorst

Adam Joined Fightworx in 2005. Adam is a highly skilled Martial Artist and Instructor, who has a very technical and in depth style of teaching and fighting. A purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Italo Ferreria).

Adam runs the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes with Darren.

Adam has a Black belt in American Kenpo Karate (2005), has a Brown belt in Shotokan Karate (1997) and has travelled worldwide in his training.

He has trained with World Class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instuctors such as Italo Ferreria, Braulio Estima, Victor Esimta, Otavio Souza, Pedro Bessa, Marcio Simas (5th Degree), Gustavo 'Gutty' Muggiati (3rd Degree) in the UK, Europe and USA.

Paul Carthy

Paul Carthy has been training in Martial Arts since the age of 17. He has a Purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Pedro Bessa) and is a Russian Sambo Coach under Vadim Kolganov (Dynamo Sambo).

Paul has Brown belts in Kickboxing and Eskrima (stick fighting). He also holds grades in Muay Thai, Judo, Aikido, JKD and Aiki-Jitsu.

Paul has a strong competition background competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Submission Wrestling, Judo and Cornish Wrestling.

Paul travelled the UK training with world level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors, including Carlos Gracie Jnr, Roger Gracie, Braulio Estima, Gordinho, Ricardo Vieira, Roger Brooking, Vitor Ribeiro, Pedro Bessa, Matt Thornton to name a few.

Neil Cooper

Neil is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blue Belt (Pedro Bessa) and accomplished MMA Fighter.

Neil has many MMA wins under his belt and is still actively competing in both MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Neil assists and teaches the MMA Classes.
